The Anointing has arrived to Tepito; Mexico’s most dangerous town.

On May 26th of 2023, the city of Tepito, one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in Mexico and in the whole world, experienced the transformative and living anointing of the Lord.

Pastor Sergio De La Mora and his team had been part of a full week of anointing in Mexico City, at Iglesia Rio Poderoso, where Pastor Sergio had been preaching about the anointing of the Holy Spirit and its power. Miracles, restored families, healed hearts, souls reached, and the weight of the Glory of God was in that place for the 7 days of the week. On Friday, May 26 of the present year, around 12 pm, volunteers from the aforementioned church and members of Monarch Ministries’ team started the journey towards the Tepito neighborhood. Specifically to a place known as "El Barrio Bravo de Mexico". A team of about 17 people arrived at the place ready to be used by God, full of uncertainty, with fear due to the atmosphere of the place, they did not expect God to move in such a way on that day.

After arriving at the place, they prayed and placed their lives in God's hands, hoping that He would take control of everything that was going to happen. They began to walk and the members guiding, some of them residents of that area and others acquaintances of the merchants of the market through which they crossed, took them to the marginalized areas of the neighborhood where people in need sought for help. When Pastor Sergio began to lay hands on people and anoint them with the dedicated oil, people began to cry and be filled with the Holy Spirit. When the first person was prayed for, people from the surrounding areas heard what was happening and came to ask for prayer. Most of the people said that in the last few months they had not had enough financial resources to sustain their living.

One particular case was that of an elderly woman who runs her business selling women's clothing and handbags. She mentioned that days before they had killed a chicken and had smeared its blood on the gate of her business and on the floor, as a symbol of a curse for her business. But as children and firm believers in God's promise, they prayed to bring financial restoration to that place and with the oil they anointed that place, nullifying any attack that the enemy had intended against this woman, and the oil brought a blessing to that place, where a curse was destined. This woman professes her faith and she is not ashamed to speak of God despite the environment in which she finds herself. It is worth mentioning that in this neighborhood of Tepito, on the edge of the streets, there are altars to La Santa Muerte, San Judas Tadeo, the Virgin Mary, and other idols’ altars that the residents have raised, due to the idolatry and witchcraft that is practiced in that place.

Another shocking event was seeing elements of the police accept Christ in their hearts and be anointed by the Spirit to bring safety to these streets full of violence and terror. For hours the team was praying for people in need and preaching the gospel while anointing the streets they were walking with oil. Because we know for sure that as the word of God says in Deuteronomy 11:24 NLT "Wherever you set foot, that land will be yours..." everything we step on in the name of Christ belongs to Him and His blessings and promises fall upon that place. Without a doubt, this event is an example of the Revival that God is bringing to His people in these last days. Because who would think of risking their life by entering one of the most feared towns in the world to preach the word, if not because of the internal desire placed by God in their heart?

When we are sensitive and God breaks our hearts for people in need, we can be partakers of experiencing the glory of God here on this earth. Without a doubt, God sees the intentions of our hearts and knows that if we help the poor and those who ask for help, He is on the lookout to bless us in a greater way. Proverbs 19:17 “Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done.”
